Message from The President
What’s in a name?
The phrase “sea change” indicates a fundamental transformation with far-reaching, revolutionary ramifications. I named my company from a passage in William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Its roots stretch back 400 years where Shakespeare wrote of the spirit, Ariel, who used the phrase to refer to an overwhelming metamorphosis. Telling a young man that his father, Alonso, lies dead on the ocean floor, Ariel sang:
Full fathom five thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
